Introducing the World Through Your Eyes

A heartwarming story that inspires children to see beauty in everyday adventures.

Addy cherished the promise of adventure and loved the feel of the breeze on her cheeks. Most of all, she loved showing her mom the wonders of the great outdoors. "Addy, I love to see the world through your eyes," her mom said.

One day, Addy and her mom ventured through the forest toward the river. "Oh dear," Mom said. "This is going to be a long walk."

A note from the author

The World Through Your Eyes is more than just a story—it’s a reminder of how much we can learn from the little ones in our lives. For children, I hope it instills confidence, showing them that their perspectives matter. For adults, I hope it serves as a gentle nudge to appreciate life’s simple joys. Woven throughout is a powerful lesson: children don’t just learn from us—we learn from them, too.

I’ve taken my daughter, Adelaide, fishing since she was born. Whether on the road or at camp, I would tell her stories, often reliving moments from our day. When it came time to find an illustrator, Diane Michelin was at the top of my list. A longtime collector of her work, I love her style and dedication to the outdoors and angling community. In true form, she has helped bring this project to life, using actual photos from mine and Adelaide’s adventures as the foundation for each painting.
